According to information received by IranWire, Soghra Hatami, a 73-year-old resident of Fardis, Karaj, was directly shot at close range by suppressive agents of the Islamic Republic on January 9, 2026, and was killed. Sources close to the Hatami family state that she bravely stood in the front row of the Fardis protests amidst a large crowd when she was shot in the head with a live bullet and died instantly.
