Amir Reza Ataei, an 18-year-old from Rezvanshahr, was killed by government agents at a checkpoint on 4 March 2026. His body was returned to his family three days later, and they were pressured to announce the cause of death as a heart attack, but Amir Reza's mother called him a martyr who was "sacrificed for the land of Iran."
