Fatemeh Abbasi

According to published information, on January 9, 2026, Fatemeh Abbasi was shot in the neck in Keshavarz Boulevard, Isfahan, while she was closing her home's door after opening it to provide shelter to protestors. As a result of this shooting, she sustained severe injuries and a severed spinal cord. (1)(2) Reports indicate that she succumbed to the complications of these injuries approximately two months later, on Thursday, March 11. It has also been reported that her body was interred in plot 52 of Bagh-e Rezvan Cemetery in Isfahan. (1)(2) One of the published reports states that her funeral was accompanied by tension and clashes, and her father and 13-year-old brother were arrested on the night of the ceremony. (2)
