Erfan Esfandiari

According to information received by Iran International, the family of Erfan Esfandiari, an 18-year-old who was executed on the morning of Sunday, July 18, 2026, was compelled under security pressures to cancel his memorial service. The service was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 20, 2026, at Baqiyatallah Mosque in Isfahan, but it was canceled due to pressure from security agencies and threats against the family. Government authorities had previously obtained a commitment from Erfan's family to agree to his body not being buried in Isfahan and to not hold a funeral ceremony. Erfan Esfandiari's body was interred in Bouin Miandasht without the presence of his family, and officials did not permit his family to hold any ceremonies.
