Touraj Khodaei

Killing of Touraj Khodaei, an Azerbaijani Citizen, in Tehran by Security Forces Touraj Khodaei, a 39-year-old Azerbaijani citizen from Bileh Savar, lost his life during recent protests in Tehran due to direct gunfire from Iranian government forces. According to information received from informed sources, this unarmed citizen was killed while exercising his fundamental right to peaceful assembly. According to the Azerbaijan Ark Human Rights Group, reports also indicate that after Touraj Khodaei's death, security agencies demanded 500 million Toman from his family for the release of his body; an action that ultimately led to the body being handed over to the family upon payment of this sum. This conduct is a clear instance of violating human dignity, state extortion, and inhumane treatment of victims' survivors.
